Refund and Cancellation Policy

Version 1.1. Effective date: 24 October 2026.

1. Summary

You get a full refund if we cancel a competition, if a charge goes wrong, or if a fault on our side stops you taking part. Once your competition window has started, your entry fee is non-refundable. To ask for a refund, email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge.

2. Who we are and what this covers

tradethecircuit.com is operated by The Circuit ("The Circuit", "we", "us"). This policy applies to entry fees paid to Enter a Circuit. It forms part of our Terms of Service and Competition Rules. If they conflict on a refund, this policy applies.

What you are paying for. An entry fee buys a place in a skill-based trading competition on a simulated account that uses live market data. No real trades are placed and no physical goods are shipped. We deliver the service when your entry is confirmed and your simulated account is created. We send you a confirmation email at that point.

Competition formats. Every competition has a published start time, and your competition window starts at that time.

  • Circuit Run: a 72-hour competition. You can enter while registration is open.
  • Scheduled Competition: you register before a fixed start time. Everyone starts and finishes together.

If a competition has not reached its minimum number of paid entries when registration closes, it is cancelled. Free entries do not count toward the minimum.

Prizes are published before entry and are governed by the Competition Rules, not this policy.

3. When you get a full refund

We refund the full entry fee in each case below. We charge no administration fee.

  1. We cancel a competition. This includes a competition that does not reach its minimum entries. We refund every entry automatically. You do not need to ask.
  2. A charge goes wrong. You were charged but no entry was created, you were charged twice for one entry, or the charge was not authorised by you.
  3. A fault on our side stopped you taking part. For example, your simulated account was not created, or a platform outage stopped you trading for a large part of your window. You can choose a full refund or a free entry into a later competition at the same price.
  4. You were not eligible and we did not catch it at entry. For example, you were under 18 or in a region where The Circuit is not available. This does not apply if you gave us false information.
  5. You cancel your entry before the competition starts. Email us before the start time and we refund you in full.

4. When entry fees are not refunded

Once your competition window has started, the service has been delivered and your entry fee is non-refundable, except in the cases in section 3. This includes when:

  • you finish outside the prize places;
  • you choose to stop trading or do not trade;
  • your entry is paused under the daily loss limit or ends under the total loss limit;
  • you lose score points for a rule breach set out on the competition's rule card;
  • you are disqualified for breaking the Terms of Service or Competition Rules, for example multiple accounts, account sharing, bots or coordinating with other players;
  • you change your mind after the window has started.

Every competition shows its rule card before you pay, so you know the limits before you enter.

5. How to ask for a refund

Email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge. Include:

  • the email address on your account;
  • the transaction reference from your confirmation email or bank statement;
  • the competition name and date;
  • the reason for your request.

We reply within 2 business days. If we need more information, we will ask. Cancelled competitions are refunded automatically, so you do not need to email us for those.

6. How refunds are paid

  • Method: to your Circuit wallet, where you can use it to Enter a Circuit. If you would rather have it back on the card or bank account you paid with, say so when you ask, or email us after an automatic refund, and we will send it there. If you paid from your Circuit wallet, the refund goes back to your wallet.
  • Amount and currency: the full amount you paid, in the currency you paid.
  • Timing: a refund to your wallet appears as soon as it is approved, or as soon as a competition is cancelled. A refund to your card or bank starts within 3 business days of approving it, and your bank or card issuer may take 5 to 10 business days to show it.
  • Confirmation: we email you when the refund is sent.

7. Chargebacks and payment disputes

Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your bank. Most issues are resolved quickly by email. If a dispute is opened, we will share the transaction record with the payment processor. We may pause the account while the dispute is open. If you receive both a refund from us and a chargeback for the same payment, we will recover the duplicate amount.

8. Your legal rights

This policy does not limit any rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply where you live.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version number and effective date at the top will change. A change never affects a refund for an entry you paid before the change.
